Steampunk Spring

In the Southern hemisphere, spring is coming. It means that my face will start clearing up on top of the super drug that might kill me. Yes, it's called Roaccutane. I have a bunch of steampunk gear I'm trying to sell.

I actually love the steampunk style right now. There's so much character and quirkiness in it. I'm going to post looks in this collection soon. So stay tuned! x

Garage Sail

Sailors and mermaids! It's been a few weeks since I updated my chronicles. I have been busy living a life like of a sailor. Packing up few clothes and sailing around the broad waters. It's a fun life, it's full of motion and action. Even in your sleep, you get vivid dreams of living in that unknown parallel universe. Buckin' Buddha, love garage sales.

Always try to look for things in the area where it seems like it was the rubbish pile or the heap of disease. Disinfectants are cheap, and just base it to the seller if they look like a hooker or if their home looks like it's been plagued with supervira (plural of virus?). You'll most likely find unused stuff, and always try to haggle because they really don't care anymore-- and they hate annoying buyers, will likely to give up after a little bit of insisting.

I never intentionally go to find these babies. However, this mecca of pre-loved holy grails called Morphett Vale in South Australia, never seem to run out of decluttering households. Every drive to work or back, I always see signs on the main road with makeshift cardboard signs of garage sales, sometimes 4 or 5 at a time. I don't buy new things because to me they have no soul and character. Yes, I think objects can have them. Connotation to the movie, the Conjuring. I didn't post some of the other insignificant and less-manly objects I've bought, (e.g. a dildo, I kid... or I might not be) So yeah, keep an eye in your neighbourhood because one man's trash is a poor prince's treasure! Bon voyage!

Violet Femmes

"Good Feeling, won't you stay with me just a little longer. It always seems like your leaving, when I need you here just a little longer." These poetic words that jives along the harmonic clangs. Good feeling, when you are with me, I think you are but a dream and so when you leave me behind I get scared that you were just a fantasy.

Japanese Jeans

There's a place that we know that will just always be there but we'd always run for, especially when you don't know what time your train comes or if you do, you know it's about to leave. Meeting in the Adelaide Railway Station was the point for our monthly sibling dinner dates. I like this train station, it's apparently also designed having the New York Central Railway Station as the inspiration when it was constructed in the mid-20th Century to replace the less-appealing predecessor.

It was quite a chilly night and my fashion sense is basically 'anything under $10', so presenting this. I got the bag, for only $2.20. I found in this hopeless garage sale, well, they were literal. They were selling pots, garden tools and all that. Then on the table, I found the bag. Priced at $3, with full enthusiasm, I said I'll take it. I grabbed my wallet only to realise I have a two-dollar coin and a twenty cent coin, although I was willing to pay the asking price, I budged it down 80 cents.

Thinking turning Japanese? I have exciting news. If you're big on sushi or grilled chicken or ice cream or seafood or more sushi, there's a place in Adelaide that gives that all. The best bit is, they will literally give it all-- unlimited. The catch is, you have to order the heap of goodness within two hours. It's only $29 per person, which is real good considering if you haven't eaten the whole day in preparation.

They have the full effect of a Japanese restaurant, with cosplaying waitstaff and the mind-boggling Japanese architectural dining tables. There's also this fire pit that can serve as a heater while you wait for your orders to be taken. Help yourself with the drinks, it's unlimited. Worry not.

Just like any other restaurant, you order what is pleasing to your palettes, except you don't have to individually look at the prices or get stuck with one dish or course. In this secret place at the rear (winky face), there's authentic Yakiniku, that's Japanese-style barbeque! Go wacky, order some Octopus and try not to eat it medium-rare. It's really a terrible medium-rare experience. You cook it infront of you, so you know there's no msg (Ajinomoto is Japanese) added, like most cheeky takeaway shops do. Cook it the way you want, as what Captain Obvious announces here.

Once again, it's unlimited. Eat as many sushi or takoyaki as you can. I wasn't able to take many photos because it is implied what I was doing the whole time.

Sushi = Unlimited. I repeat, unlimited. It's like Sushi Train but it's like a freight train that goes for two hours, non-stop. Depends with your capacity. So, if you're planning to fast for the day and have a massive dinner, Ginza Japanese Restaurant at 48 Unley Road should do it. Don't forget to check the opening hours, but ideally get a reservation at (08) 8357 3888, so you get a table because this promo is really popular.

Indie Go!

Today, the Republic of the Philippines celebrate(s) its' 125th Independence Day! I never really felt the festive and patriotic vibe of this holiday. Apart from few ceremonies involving the elite and the government guys, all fancy looking in their pineapple fibre shirts and butterfly sleeved gowns. Why? Maybe because we, the Filipinos are rather used to being dependent. Most might disagree with my opinion, but hey, when was the last time you actually supported local products? Okay, Oxygen and Artwork maybe Filipino, but it's made in China! I mean, I've always promoted buying local goods, even apparels: Robertson, Guitar and Advan are few of the brands that I personally like.

TRAV :: Tee ARTWORK Jacket YD Pants GENERIC Shoes THRIFT

I really don't have expensive clothes, but I know for a fact that this YD jacket would cost nearly or maybe a bit over 100 dollars. So thank you. What a cheapstake loser I am. The shoes-- I bought something similar for 3 dollars, but hey, they're like never worn! What kind of person would not wear those pretty walkies?

So my natural hipster comes in. I just can't afford to afford expensive, or brand new clothing (unless they're on sale). You can always find something unique, and wearable. You just have to try to be the average size.

Australian Summer

The holidays in Australia is about sun and fun. Meanwhile it's all about cute knitted jumpers (sweaters) and scarves on the other side of the pole; it's about thongs (flip flops), the bay and threats of bush-fires in our area. I had a wonderful time spending these days getting days off my tacky job and being with special people.

One weekend, I spent the night with school friends which turned to a skate night. Few hours from then, I freshened myself up with nothing but a borrowed shirt with a tie; going for a wedding coverage in my work pants, work shoes and a dampened hair. Yes, I wore my work pants and work shoes while skating the previous night. Back-up photographer, no pressure at all.

Beaumont House

Beaumont House, occasionally known as Claremont, is an eclectic Romanesque-Classical brick residence located at 631 Glynburn Road in Beaumont, South Australia. Beaumont House was constructed for Augustus Short, the first Anglican bishop of Adelaide and founder of St Peter's Cathedral.

Push Pin Boutique

I am not the best person to talk about vintage fashion, but I do know something. I have a sense of style, too! While I was living in the south-western district of Adelaide and walking up to the city, I'd normally pass through the Central Markets, and this is where I set my eyes to this little rustic beauty.

Extra Terrestrials

I believe in aliens ancient astronauts. I am listening to Mika's song Any Other World while I put this up. I like the words in it as it dances with the beautiful melody it has. I like the fact that eighties is similar with the acronymy of Extra Terrestrials. I love this planet, and I think we should explore and contribute like our antediluvian ancestors did, if they ever existed. "Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in."
